i have a history project to do on african immigrants in the 1800s , all i know that they were forced to move to america for slave trades.

Can anyone give me some more info on them and what happend during the trade and how did they get to america,like a bus or ship i really dont know.

SO I dont know much xD but heres the bit i know: The demand for cotton and tobacco in the U.S.. increased. SO, slaves where brought to help, For example,  Sugar and molasses where sent from the Caribbean to the New England colonies and then was turned into rum. Then, the rum was sent from New England to Europe, manufactured goods and weapons where sent to to Africa from Europe to trade in for slaves. And then the slaves where sent to the colonies. SLaves where important because  State and local governments made money on slavery by adding taxes to all slave transactions and by collecting taxes from each plantation based on the number of slaves living there.

well slaves were brought on ships after being captured and sold and traded. i also agree with miss , since at that time most of the colonies were depended on the slaves.

One more question, where did the slaves go after getting off of the ships?

some slaves died on the trip from a disease or a small rebellion that ended quickly, and in order to have more slaves on the ship they had to stand up the whole trip :/

THATS what it was called , i learned this like a few weeks ago and the name of the trade was on the tip of my tongue! :)
