How do you write 0.707 in word form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"point seven zero seven" is my guess

OpenStudy (aakashsudhakar):

Most would say sqrt(2)/2, but I'll say Zero Point Seven-Zero-Seven.

most? only people who use calculators regularly :)

In my experience, a decimal is often read in fractional form. So, what fraction would be equivalent to this decimal? Well, you have a 707, but you need the decimal place to be before the first seven, not after the last one, so you would need to divide 707 by 10 three times... which is the same as dividing by 1,000: \[\dfrac{707}{1,000}=0.707]\] Writing it this way makes it easier to describe in words: Seven Hundred and Seven Thousandths

How do you write 0.707 in word form and you have to choose one of these. Is it seven hundred seven thousandths or seventy seven thousandths or seven and seven hundredths or seven and seven thousandths
