OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooh that sounds fun

OpenStudy (genny7):

Lol yeah but ive never done that before

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me either, is it like for school?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yeah its for school

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whatcha need help with?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Well i dont knwo what type of conflict or drama for the play?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do a mix of both? Does it have to follow any guide lines?

OpenStudy (genny7):

On my paper it says to keep it simple, have at least 3 props, and a conflict

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, well are you allowed to have other characters in it?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you could do it about the effects of bullying, if thats not too cliche.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Thats actually a good idea..how would i start it off though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Start it off happy, a girl talking a hanging out with her friends, and then maybe have a bully comment something mean on an instagram post. Have the girl tell her friends about it. And then other kids around school could start teasing the girl about the comment. The way I see it, is more like a movie skit rather than a play, but I think its workable.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Okay thanks ill start if off like that... What wouldnthe tone of that be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you mean by that?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Im guessing it means by like what their attitude is

OpenStudy (genny7):

If that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well everything is happy in the beginning, and then the teasing starts causing everyone else to have a mean bully kinda happiness and she is melancholy. Her friends feel bad for her and try to stand up for her. Surely you've witnessed bullying before. But I'd try to make it the utmost realistic, not like in the movies.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Okay, nope i havent witnessed bullying before have only seen it on movies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The teasers think its funny, the bullied people hate it. Basically, picture pretending to throw a ball for your dog, you're teasing your dog. Well the dog knows your faking it, and the dog begins to become distressed, because you are being mean to him. Your friends begin to play along with you and pretend to throw you dog a ball. After a little while, your dog will give in and believe you have a ball. He will run out to fetch it, but will realize nothing's there. ||| After a prolonged time of being bullied, people start to believe what the bullies are saying, even thought they once thought the complete opposite of themselves.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My metaphor wasn't as good as I thought it would be..

OpenStudy (genny7):

Actually it is good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand what I mean? People that are bullied often either hold everything in and punish themselves, or stoop down to the bullys level.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yes i understand what you mean :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

bullying sucks, i've lost multiple friends because of it and people just dont learn...no one cares.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yes it does! Wow :/ thats sad..thats really true nobody cares about bullying now a days...recently this past week i heard about some 7th grade girl that killed herself..& she lived in a nearby town close to where i live...that made me sad to think about how that young girl died at a young age & idk if people tried to help her or not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Exactly, I think a play will make some what a difference. Are you performing it to an audience?

OpenStudy (genny7):

Yes, im going to perform it to my class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I like this idea

OpenStudy (genny7):

Me too My little problem now is talking in front of the class

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it'll be okay. When is the assignment due? Make sure you have had plenty of rehearsal time! I always liked to gather any stuffed animals or dolls that my little sister had lying around the house and preform in front of them. They're an easy audience to start with, and when you feel comfortable, perform for your family, or a friend.

OpenStudy (genny7):

Its due the 12th which is next week ..lol thats a a good way to practice :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

practice as much as possible!!!!!

OpenStudy (genny7):

Will do :) Thanks alot Payton :)
