How do I classify a triangle by the side measurements? Example a triangle has sides, 19cm, 12cm and 8cm what would I classify as?

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

scalene... then you could test them using pythagoras' theorem to see if they form a right angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, but how did you figure that out..?

OpenStudy (camper4834):

you do no math to say that the triangle is scalene

OpenStudy (camper4834):

its scalene simply because those numbers you gave us for the sides... none of them are the same.... and thats what makes it scalene

OpenStudy (camper4834):

if you said 19 12 12, we would automatically know that it is isosceles because two of those numbers are the same

oh okay, thank you <3
