1. Which of these is the best example of translational motion? A. a coin spinning on a desk B. a leaf blowing across the field C. a car in a parking lot with its engine running D. a ballerina standing on one foot 2. If you see that a hot-air balloon is rising above the top of a hill, what is the top of the hill called? A. delta point B. distance system
@satellite73 @Angel_Halo23
@Vianne can you please help me???
@Harsha19111999
Translational motion is the motion by which a body shifts from one point in space to another. So, in the 1st question, a leaf blowing over a field would be translational motion
Are there any other options for the 2nd question?
C. coordinate system D. reference point
@Harsha19111999
its called reference point as the position of the hot-air balloon is specified with respect to the hill
what's that mean?
The question said that the balloon was crossing the top of the hill. So, the position of the balloon is compared to that of the hill
oh so what are my answers i can choose from that one is gonna be correct?
1) B 2) D
and were on question 1?
@Harsha19111999
??
i posted 2 questions and i'm not sure what one were on
For the first one, the answer is B and for the second, the answer is D
thanks can u help with 3 more?

good job
"Translational motion is movement of an object without a change in its orientation relative to a fixed point, as opposed to rotational motion, in which the object is turning about an axis." http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-translational-motion.htm Your answer for the first one would be a coin spinning on a desk.
so transnational is moving with out twisting or rotating?
