While snorkeling you come across an organism that appears to be a mollusk. In an effort to identify the type of mollusk you make the following observations: fast moving, large eye. What type of mollusk do you believe you have found (bivalve, gastropod, or cephalopod)?

OpenStudy (agreene):

bivalve == 2 valves, think clams (no eyes) gastropoda == snails etc, (eyes but slow-moving) cephalopoda == squid etc

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And squid are fast right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@agreene

OpenStudy (agreene):

indeed.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you

OpenStudy (agreene):

but, you can also look at it this way: gastropoda are land animals, and bivalve dont have eyes.

OpenStudy (agreene):

I should say, mostly land animals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so I guess it only leads to the cephalopods because squids have long tentacles and large eyes.
