Hey! My teacher sent out some similar questions to what we are having on our test in a week. The problem is, I don't understand well! Just please explain these questions to me. BTW! This is not graded! I am not cheating. :) thanks heres some problems (i worked some out already but i want to know i did it correctly) Question 1: Find the missing number. ___, 48, 12, 3 (i think it may be 192!) Question 2: Figure out the expression: 4(x + 8) for x=6 Question 3: canned potatoes are for sale for $2.50 per can, this can be written as $2.50. Evaluate this expression if you buy 7 cans of pota
1. 192 is correct! You found the pattern and continued it (backwards)! 2. They want you to plug in 6 for the x in the expression, then simplify. Can you plug it in and simplify using order of operations? 3. The expression would be 2.50x (or p or c or whatever letter you want -- I think it got left off in your post). So if you buy 7 cans of potatoes, you need to plug in 7 for the variable in the expression. Then it's just like #2 -- plug and chug.
Ahh!! Thank you so much! That will prepare me for the test
I figured out that 2. Is 56 after simplifying
