Determine if the two figures are congruent and explain your answer. If they are congruent, tell which rigid motions were used.
Do you think the two figures are congruent?
yes
And how would you explain?
well all i basically did to see if they were congruent or not was count the units, like B and C are two units up and 1 over, and and for the second shape F and G and two units down and 1 over.
sorry i took long it wasnt showing me the post button
Exactly.
Both ABCD and EFGH are four sided figures. BD = FH = 3 units diagonally. AB = 2 units along x, 1 unit along y. EF = 2 units along y, 1 unit along x. ...etc.
correct
We will assume ABCD is the original and EFGH is the resultant image after some rigid motion. Point D corresponds to point H. D is 5 units UP along the y-axis. If D is reflected about the x-axis, it will be 5 units DOWN along the y-axis. Then if it is translated 4 units to the RIGHT, point D will coincide with point H. Make sure reflection about the x-axis and translation to the right by 4 units along the positive x-axis works for the other points too.
i dont get it o.0
AHHH ok ok my bad i do get it thank you xD i had to read it like 5 times lol. @aum
The last answer was in response to the question: " If they are congruent, tell which rigid motions were used." You are welcome.
yeah lol
