Given a triangle with side lengths a,b,c. The length c is the longest side If you can show that a^2 + b^2 = c^2 is true, then the triangle is a right triangle. This is the converse of the pythagorean theorem.
Example a = 3 b = 4 c = 5 a^2 + b^2 = c^2 3^2 + 4^2 = 5^2 9 + 16 = 25 25 = 25 the triangle with sides 3,4,5 is a right triangle
