OpenStudy (rissyroo118):

Which part of an amino acid makes each of the 20 amino acids different? A) carboxyl group B) R-group C) hydrogen group D) phosphate tail @alphadxg HELP PLEASE

OpenStudy (alphadxg):

Each amino acid has an R group that makes it unique from all of the other amino acids. There are polar, nonpolar, charged, and uncharged amino acids. Some can be polar and charged or polar and uncharged. It all depends on the properties of the R group. Some contain an aromatic ring, like Tyrosine for example. Proline is actually an imino acid because its R group links the -COOH and -NH groups. B - is the correct answer. Please give medal :)

@rissyroo118 Hope you understood that. A better example is this. |dw:1415334061038:dw|
