Why is it that the Romans would spend such time and money investing in Aqueducts? What is their importance?

the aqueducts were a very important structure to the kingdom for one important reason. the aqueducts were use to transport water throughout the city the water was for all the people to drink and to do the laundry the aqueducts collected rain water and pulled water from the water that was around them and out of the ground. i hope this helps:)
