Which sentence in the excerpt supports the claim that the American colonies could thrive independently from Britain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A) I have heard it asserted by some, that as America hath flourished under her former connection with Great Britain that the same connection is necessary towards her future happiness, and will always have the same effect. B) We may as well assert that because a child has thrived upon milk that it is never to have meat, or that the first twenty years of our lives is to become a precedent for the next twenty. C) But even this is admitting more than is true, for I answer roundly, that America would have flourished as much, and probably much more, had no European power had any thing to do with her. D) The commerce, by which she hath enriched herself, are the necessaries of life, and will always have a market while eating is the custom of Europe. I think it is B @_monster_bunny_

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would say you are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm, i think its A... but dont just take my word for it, wait for someone else to answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am sorry but i have to go

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you @_monster_bunny_

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@streamkaboom, why do you think A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha lol im just going by what it mentions, im not sure about this kinda stuff... dont go by my word, if you both think B then i would go B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well your answer does sorta make sense now that I've re-read it a few times.

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

it's A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D yay i may have possibly been a little bit right! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already answered it unfortunately, and can't go back :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, really? darn.

OpenStudy (chosenmatt):

yup:) lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, um... *ahem* i uh... i meant to say that.... i knew it was A.... *bad poker face*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont forget medals! :) im off! this young butterfly must BLAZE

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I actually chose C, because the question asks how the colonies could thrive independently from Britain. A suggests that the colonies need Britain. B suggests they don't, but says nothing of *thriving*. C suggests they don't, and that they would have flourished without any European power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! well then, maybe you got it right! looks like you didnt need us after all. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

back to blazing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh hey, :) thanks of rthe medal!
