Water(HOH) supplies the necessary electrons during the light reaction by a process called photolysis of water. Also, the H+ ions combines with the NADP+ to form NADPH2 which is a very essential molecule in the process of respiration. It is the oxygen from this water that escapes and joins the atmosphere which helps us to breathe.
