Who knows Slope and Similar Triangles?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the slope of the hypotenuses of the triangles in simplest form? ???/???

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

I can't see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

^ its right there

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

They are similar triangles so... slope = rise over run slope for the small triangle = 1/2.5

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

slope for big triangle is double that = 2/5

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

2 is the rise 5 is the run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So its 2/5

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

For the bigger triangle yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me another one?

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

A, C , and D. A because 2 * 1.5 = 3 and 8 * 1.5 = 12 C because triangle x is half of that. D because triangle y is half that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok. Can you check this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

Sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wasnt sure im right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I right?

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

I think 2. should be 8,6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thx bye

OpenStudy (superflytyguy):

No also 3 should be 8,3 and D should be 6, 3
