where does transcription take place?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

transcription occurs in the nucleus of a cell, if it has a nucleus. if the cell lacks a nucleus, then the mRNA is immediately translated without additional processing. transcription in RNA only involve portions of the molecule. It also only involves one side of the molecule. in RNA transcription uracil is used in place of DNAs thymine. transcription is the transfer of information of DNA to RNA. transcription is the general term for the synthesis of any kind of RNA on a DNA template. once the RNA has been transcribed, the new RNA called messanger RNA, or mRNA, takes this message to the ribosome where it is translated.
