I need to write a speech about my favorite piece of literature but I cant seem to find a way to start the speech. Any ideas??? (The literature i'm writing about is a poem called To This Day.)

Its just a regular speech nothing fancy i don't know how to explain it. Its for the end of the unit.

Well, with speeches, always start off with an introduction. Speeches are made to get your point across to your audience, so it's a good idea to state your main points in the intro. Why is it your favorite, what you think is the best part, etc. In the body, begin to explain in more detail your main points, backing them up with supportive facts. This should be 3 paragraphs at least. End your speech with a conclusion, restating your main points. It's almost like a persuasive essay, except your explaining why you like it, rather than explaining why someone should like it. :)
