How many solutions will this system of equations have? y = 3.5x - 3.5 y = -3.5x + 3.5 No solution Infinite solutions One solution Two solutions

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

what are the slopes of each equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do u mean

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

well... have you covered slopes yet?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so.. how are you supposed to know if they have solution or not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so sorry yes

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

so... if the slopes of the equations differ, then that means there's a solution if both equations are equal, once simplified, then there's an infinite solutions if they slopes are equal only, and not the rest, then there's no solution

thanks man
