FAN AND MEDAL!! PLEASE HELP!!

Write x2 - 2x - 3 = 0 in the form (x - a)2 = b, where a and b are integers.

(x - 4)2 = 3
(x - 3)2 = 2
(x - 2)2 = 1
(x - 1)2 = 4

The answer is (x-1)^2 = 4
Since when you expand (x-1)^2, you get x^2 - 2x +1
When you bring the 4 over to the other side, you get 1-4 = 3
Therefore, x^2 -2x -3
