OpenStudy (paki):

@ganeshie8 @amistre64 help plz...

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Its a trapezoid...

OpenStudy (paki):

yeah

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And what does it say on the right side?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

It got chopped off...

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

\(\Huge Area=\frac{a+b}{2} \times h\) Where a and b are the two bases...

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

I am supposing the Height is 2?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Because http://prntscr.com/54b7y6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

yeah, a more general rule that works with any parallelagram is .... (average base) * height

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

And also you said the length is 10 km but in the diagram you put feet?

OpenStudy (paki):

yeah rite.... formula is correct... but what will i do with the length of road...?

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

Oh so the lenght would be the height..

OpenStudy (paki):

i think no... length has nothing with height

OpenStudy (amistre64):

do we want area or volume?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

i think we are talking about surface area here

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is it possible to post a picture of the question?

OpenStudy (paki):

it's a site related question.... @amistre64

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im not quite sure what the means ....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

copyrighted by connections or something i assume

OpenStudy (paki):

@amistre64 this is the site picture.... look.... http://prntscr.com/54bcp6

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you need to find the arc length along center of the road if the road is really that long and curvy

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

|dw:1415468473505:dw| 10km = 6.214 mi = 6.214(5280) ft SA = (10+2.0155+2.0155)*(6.214)(5280)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

nice pic :)
