Which function below is the inverse of f(x) = x2 − 25? x squared over 25 ±square root of the quantity x plus 25 ±5 times the square root of x 1 over quantity x squared minus 25

@jim_thompson5910 @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you solve \[x=y^2-25\] for \(y\) you get the following \[x=y^2-25\\ x+25=y^2\\ \pm\sqrt{x+25}=y\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

once again the geniuses at FLVS think that \[f^{-1}(x)=\pm\sqrt{x+25}\] is a function, but if course it is not because of the \(\pm\)

so B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, write to them and tell them that they do not know what a function is

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha i would but i dont wanna get in trouble

OpenStudy (anonymous):

give me the id number of this question and i will do it for them the florida school board should be ashamed
