OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is the problem ^

OpenStudy (aripotta):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My test keeps closing so i have to asnwer it fast :(

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i'm not going to give you the answer

OpenStudy (bibby):

I can give you it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pLEASE!!! You know im not good at fractions :(

OpenStudy (aripotta):

can you convert them into improper fractions?

OpenStudy (bibby):

convert it to improper fractions.multiply by the reciprocal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its gonna take me for forever!!

OpenStudy (aripotta):

by now, you would have worked out the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Considering how BAD im at math...... No..... ask @bibby and im trying to but i have no idea how! :(

OpenStudy (bibby):

you did it a minute ast question

OpenStudy (aripotta):

i'm trying to help you step-by-step. can you convert 6 1/4 and 2 1/4 into improper fractions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dunno, this is what i got.... 25/4 and 9/4

OpenStudy (bibby):

correct.now multiply by the reciprocal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS

OpenStudy (aripotta):

yes that's right. now to divide fractions, you go by "same, change, flip." meaning the first fractions stays the same, the division sign changes to multiplication, and you flip the other fraction 25/4 x 4/9 can you do that?

OpenStudy (bibby):

flip the 2nd thing just like before \(\frac{25}{4}\div \frac{9}{4}=\frac{25}{4} \times \frac{4}{9} \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i got 6 25/36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait i did that wrong one moment

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk i got it :D

OpenStudy (bibby):

we can simplify first and then multiply across or multiply and then simplify the f irst way = \(\large frac{25\times4}{4\times9}=\frac{100}{36}\) divide top and bottom by 4 \(\frac{25}{9}=2\frac{7}{9} \)
