Name the protein that allows facilitated diffusion of water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hello, Possibly \(\textit{membrane proteins}\) - that is if you want a vague answer. Membrane proteins have two categories, the integral (intrinsic) and peripheral (extrinsic). A more specific answer is \(\textit{transmembrane proteins}\) which exist under integral membrane protein category, and are hydrophobic. Since they are hydrophobic, they form a water-filled channel (that has pores) allowing ions to pass down its concentration gradient via diffusion. (Other things can pass as well.) Peace.
