(BEST ANSWER GETS MEDAL, PLEASE HELP!) Show steps please : ) Express the area of a triangle as the polynomial function A(x) in descending powers of the variable x. The base of the triangle is 2x + 3 and the height of the triangle is x^2 - 2x + 4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A(x) = ((x^2 - 2x +4) (2x + 3)) / 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

area of a triangle is base times the height and divide by two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so just plug in those two equations for the base and the height and then divide by 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is A(x) = x^3-(x^2/2)+x+6 correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, but you dont really have to divide by 2. I guess personal preference but yes your answer is correct

Thank you!!! : )
