OpenStudy (rawr25):

Words such as before, because, importantly, after, since, and so are called ____________.

OpenStudy (aamirgsen):

conjunctions :D

OpenStudy (rawr25):

@Aamirgsen I'm home schooled and that question is saying that conjunctions is wrong

OpenStudy (rawr25):

@sammixboo it's not math

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Conjunctions are words combining two sentences Conjunctions are and, but, also, such as, etc. But what do you think the answer is @Rawr25

OpenStudy (rawr25):

I think it is chronological but when I used that one it was wrong @sammixboo

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Some of those words are conjuctions though :)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

What are your choices?

OpenStudy (rawr25):

There is chronological, cause-and-effect, order of importance, and comparison/contrast

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Would you use all of them words to compare/contrast anything?

OpenStudy (rawr25):

Yeah it's wrong and I messaged my teacher but he told me to keep trying and I've been stuck on this since Friday

sammixboo (sammixboo):

No you wouldn't use ALL of these words for comparing/contrasting. Some of them would work but not all Would you use the word 'after' when you are comparing something?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

And the word before

OpenStudy (rawr25):

No

sammixboo (sammixboo):

See :P Now would you use ALL of these words for explaining the cause and effect of something?

OpenStudy (rawr25):

Yes

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Nope. you won't use the word importantly as a transition for cause and effect (I forgot to mention you are going to be using the words as transitions/conjunctions)

sammixboo (sammixboo):

You said you already chose chronological, but it was wrong? Just wondering :)

OpenStudy (rawr25):

Yes

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Have you tried order of importance?

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Because you would definitely use all these words when trying to describe something important

OpenStudy (rawr25):

Yeah and it was wrong to

sammixboo (sammixboo):

YOu have tried cause and effect?

OpenStudy (rawr25):

I tried all four of them and they are all wrong that's what I'm not getting

sammixboo (sammixboo):

That is weird Because I think it is either cause and effect or order of importance

OpenStudy (rawr25):

this is the thing I was using not sure if you will be able to see it but the website is https://courseplayer.avalearning.com/CourseFiles/2267/13324/65933/885706/unit1.lesson3.sixtraitsofwriting.swf
