Help! Geometric Series!
s(x) = 1.03^(x - 1)
@IMStuck
is there a question?
Using complete sentences, explain to Christina how she can combine her functions to create a new function, and explain what this new function means.
Function 1 h(x) = 103 Function 2 s(x) = (1.03)^(x-1) This word problem is way to vague. I'm not sure if it's saying that she wants to deposit her money into the bank account or if she would like to combine the money in he bank account with the money in her house. s(x) = (1.03)^(x-1) s(100) = (1.03)^(103-1) s(100) = 1.03^102 s(100) = 20.4 If she wants to combine the functions it would be this s(x) = (1.03)^(x-1) + 100 This would show that she is adding the money that she has to her bank account.
Thats what i submitted but my teacher said the following "They are saying the initial amount (principal) is 103 and the interest is represented by (1.03)^x-1. You'd multiply the functions."
how would you multiply these functions together?
