sammixboo (sammixboo):

Do you know the formula of the volume of a cylinder?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3.14

sammixboo (sammixboo):

No no :) The vormula to find the volume of a cylinder is \(\rm V~=~3.14\times r^2 \times h\) The radius ( r ) is half of the diameter, which is 12in, so our radius is 6in, and our height ( h ) is 48 in So r = 6 h = 48 Now plug in the information in the formula \(\rm V~=~3.14\times r^2 \times h\) \(\rm V~=~3.14\times 6^2 \times 48\) First solve the eponent, which is \(\rm 6^2\) which is \(\rm 6 \times 6\) So what is \(\rm 6 \times 6\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Good! So we plug in 36 where \(\rm 6 \times 6\) was in the equation! \(\rm V~=~3.14\times 36 \times 48\) Now multiplying from left to right, we must multiply 3.14 and 36 So what is \(\rm 3.14 \times 36\)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

113.04

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Correct! So we plug in 113.04 where \(\rm 3.14 \times 36\) in the equation! \(\rm V~=~113.04 \times 48\) Can you solve the rest?

D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@sammixboo thanks

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Hmm hold on a second

sammixboo (sammixboo):

No it isn't D :( All you need to do is multiply 113.04 x 48

sammixboo (sammixboo):

And she left. Mwuahah I guess that is what she gets :(
