-3y > 9 would my answer be y > 3 MEDAL AND FAN

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

no look at here there is - minus sign with 3 so when it goes in denominator of 9 it would be -3 y>-3 okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my! no no no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide by \(-3\) change the inequality, get \(y<-3\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you also have to flip the inequality sign when you divide by a negative

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y<-3

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

@satellite73 what happened ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-3y>9 y>9/-3 y<-3

OpenStudy (haseeb96):

okay sorry i forget y<-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sign flips when you divide by a negative,if it would have be a positive 3y then the answer would be y>3. Understand? @Kim21
