Can someone help me with one question please? Your friend has $90 when he goes to the fair. He spends $5 to enter the fair and $15 on food. Rides at the fair cost $1.50 per ride. Which function can be used to determine how much money he has left over after x rides?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

options: f(x)=1.5x+70 f(x)=-1.5x+70 f(x)-1.5x-70 f(x)-20x+$90

OpenStudy (wmj259):

He spent $15 and $5. So his new total is.... $70. So if we want to know how many rides he can buy, that would mean that the negative is "being spent" while the positive 70 is the balance. Correct?

OpenStudy (camerondoherty):

So lets extract the important information in this total amount of money is 90$ He spends 20$, the amount of the entrance fee and food combined And goes on x rides, that cost 1.50$ each So before he goes on the rides, he has 70$ So, if you're subtracting 1.50$ per ride he goes on you would add -1.5x+70 SO the answer would be B c: ANy Questions?

Nope I understand how you got the answer thanks for your help and @wmj259 thanks for trying to help
