Jake and Mike took some tests. Jake took x tests and scored 85 points in each test. The expression below shows Mike's total score: 85x - 15 What does the constant term of the expression represent? The total score Mike earned The total number of tests Mike took The sum of Jake's and Mike's total score The difference between Jake's and Mike's total score

OpenStudy (leader):

It would be D because Jake kept on making 85's and that is Mike's scores...

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait what is a constant term in this equation?

OpenStudy (leader):

A constant term is a number that is not affected by a variable.. So 15 is the constant term

OpenStudy (leader):

For example 5x^3 +4x^2 + 3x+6 The 6 would be a constant since it has no variables with it..

ok thanks
