When cells do not die, but they were supposed to they start to multiply in a different cell that is already being made. Since their is a different cell growing and its supposed to be dead a tumor develops which can push stuff away to make it fit. Tumors can either cause death or cause cancer. Over time, the tumors can replace normal tissue, crowd it, or push it aside. Some cancers, like leukemia, rarely form tumors. Instead, these cancer cells involve the blood and blood-forming organs and circulate through other tissues where they grow. Most cancer deaths are due to metastasis. Metastasis is when malignant cells penetrate into the circulatory system and establish colonies in other parts of the body.
