what are the three measurements you need to make in order to calculate power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Power is defined to be \(\large{\frac{W}{t}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

W is work and t is time. And so you need to measure for how long work is being done.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And measure work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But work is \(\large{Fd}\). The force F aplied through a distance d. And so you need to measure the force applied and the distance through which that force acted too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(t\) \(F\) \(d\)

Another way of expressing power is the amount of energy used or generated in a given time. Power = energy/ time to produce that energy. for example the power of an electric heater or a laser pulse. force is not a factor in these cases.
