(Points : 1) Carthage had gold and minerals that the Roman Republic needed to expand its power. Rome had to go through Carthage to get to Greece and take control of Greece. Carthage had taken Roman residents as slaves and Rome wanted revenge. Rome was attempting to expand its territory because it needed more land for the people.
