What is the point in asking for help when nobody wants to help you?

I understand that. But it takes them a hour to get to us, and some people can't wait that long.

you can use the bump button, try asking for help in the chat, send a private message to people with a high smartscore in that subject. Lots of options to decrease waiting time.

If you don't get any help in an hour you either didn't bump your question frequently or you've posted your question in poor populated section such as geography or physics. 

If it's a math question you should get help very easily.
