Which of the following equations form a dependent system with line A which has the equation y = (-1/2) x + 4. A. 2x + 4y = 16 B. x - 4y = 8 C. 2x - 4y = -16 D. x + 4y = -8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you multiply that equation all the way across by 2 you get \[2y=-x+8\] see if you can turn that in to one of the choices below

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see now all your choices have \(4y\) so instead of multiplying the first equation by 2, multiply it by 4 and get \[4y=-2x+16\] then try to match that one up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hint, don't look beyond the first choice

So A lol @satellite73
