Given h(x) = 3x/-x-1 find h^-1(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h^-1 is the inverse of the function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You have not done inverse functions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have, this is just a review problem from last year. Do you set -1 for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You make h(x) =y. So you have y=3x/(-x-1)...then switch x and y so you then have x= 3y/-y-1)...now solve for y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=3y/(-y-1) now solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm lost here. Do you multiply x times (y-1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is x = to 3y^2?
