OpenStudy (kj4uts):

Which natural phenomenon is the best example of periodic behavior? A. Your average daily bank balance. B. The population of a city over time. C. The amount of pollution in Los Angeles as a function of time. D. The high temperature for a given city. I know that to be considered periodic, an event has to happen over and over in a predictable way. I am pretty sure b. population CANNOT be considered. Out of these choices what makes the most sense (please explain)?

I agree. That high usually comes around noon (or somewhere close to it maybe) each day making it periodic. C is probably periodic given that rush hour is periodic, but over time there will be more cars out on the road so the pollution will probably increase
