A haiku is always 3 lines and must have exactly 5 syllables in the first line 7 in the second and 5 in the third. Some Haiku don't follow those exact syllables. Why? A.They were originally written in Japanese and some Japanese words had different syllables that english B. The words had more syllables in the old english C. Basho only spoke Japanese but he tried to write them in english
