Ok, Haha, I remember answering a question similar to this in English~ Basically, he was trying to get the point across that if yhu begin to understand men, or people, yhu will become kind to one another. If yhu get to know someone well enough, it often leads to hatred, which ultimately, turns out to be love for that person. Yhu may want to rephrase, but that's similar to what I put. I had my teacher help me on it.
