Translate the following phrase into an algebraic expression: Eight times the difference of a and b.

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

8(a-b)

OpenStudy (btaylor):

How would you write the difference of a and b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8(a-b)

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

sorry should have explained that one. What you want to do is find the difference of a and b. how do you do that. You put a-b. You have to put this into parentheses because you have to find out what the difference is before you can multiply it by 8.
