What part of speech is the underlined word in the sentence? Of the two islands, the smaller one has more people. A. adverb B. adjective C. pronoun D. noun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my gosh pleeeaaase help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what word is underlined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry two

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok hold on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not a noun..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and its not an adjective because adjectives describes a noun or a pronoun

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that leaves you with the choice of either A or C...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and im going with C because a pronoun describes the noun, unlike the adverb which describes an action verb or other adverbs. ( islands is the noun, it is a place )

THX FOR ANSWERING MY QUESTION!!!!!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (yolomcswagginsggg):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A pronoun is he, she, I, they, etc. I could see how many people would sratch their heads at this, but it is an adjective because it describes how many.

OpenStudy (yolomcswagginsggg):

OK THX
