How did the United States respond to the Berlin blockade? by airlifting supplies into West Berlin by helping East Berliners sneak into West Berlin by officially making West Germany a nation

It was a propaganda success for the Americans, as they launched the Berlin Airlift. Allied planes transported supplies to West Berlin. America committed 70 large cargo planes and airlifted between 600-700 tonnes of food and supplies every day. This increased to 1000 after a few weeks. Overall, during January 1949, the airlift provided over 170,000 tonnes of supplies. President Truman's response was peaceful in comparison to Stalin, making Truman look like a 'hero' to Berlin.
