Are you trying to solve this or factor it?
OpenStudy (superabby18):
well the problem is f/g
when F(x)=3x-1 and G(x)=x-5
so all i did was put in the equations...
i just need help solving it. @I_Need_Help_With_Home

help? @confluxepic
OpenStudy (anonymous):
3x-1| = x+5
Case 1:
3x-1 = x+5
3x-x = 5+1
2x = 6
x = 3
Case 2:
-(3x-1) = x+5
-3x + 1 = x+5
-3x-x = 5-1
-4x = 4
x = -1
The equation is satified for x = -1 and x = 3
OpenStudy (confluxepic):
@The_Jokers_wife
I am not sure abut that.
OpenStudy (confluxepic):
\[\frac{ 3x-1 }{ x-5 }\]
OpenStudy (superabby18):
its to simplify, not solve for x

Is that the question. @superabby18
OpenStudy (superabby18):
yes. @confluxepic the second one. but simplified
OpenStudy (superabby18):
the question is \[ \left[ f/g \right]\] but i jus the equations in @confluxepic
