An outlier is an observation that is: (a) above UQ + 1.5 * IQR; or (b) below LQ - 1.5 * IQR. To identify any outliers, you need to work out the Upper Quartile, Lower Quartile and Interquartile Range. Then evaluate UQ + 1.5 * IQR and LQ - 1.5 * IQR. Data values greater than the first or less than the second of these two values are outliers.
