y=(sqrt)x + 10 shifts the graph up 10 units (you can also use a graphing calculator to verify the effect)
@timanti i also have a question about this: for the parent function \[y=^{3}\sqrt{x}\] what effect does a value of h = -6 have on the graph? does that move the graph down by 6 units?
the graph of the simple equation y = 1x, or y = x, is graphed in (a) below. the line passes through every coordinate point where x = y, such as (2, 2) or (−3, −3)
yes, the graph moves down by 6 units.
