Suppose y varies directly with x. Write an equation relating x and y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y= - 150 when x= 25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont no how to solve this type of equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Well, if they directly vary than just do y=-6x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but how did u get the - 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you're trying to get to -150 from 25, than just multiply it buy six so you get 150, but it has to be a negative so make it a negative, because a positive multiplied by a negative makes it a negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i have to subsitute x an y in y= -6 x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or it - 6 the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the answer choices? I thought you were making an equation to make x vary with y..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhhhhh lol i didnt check thxx
