***WILL GIVE MEDAL AND BECOME A FAN*** A farmer is planning a rectangular area for her chickens. The area of the rectangle will be 800 feet. Three sides of the rectangle will be formed by fencing, which costs $5 per foot. The fourth side of the rectangle will be formed by a portion of the barn wall, which requires no fencing. In order to minimze the cost of the fencing, how long should the fourth side be? A.40ft B.20ft C.16ft D.50ft

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the lowest cost, wouldnt the answer logically be the lowest feet or C? Or am I completely missing something altogether?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what I was assuming aswell

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesnt say any restrictions on how small the fence can be so i would go with C.
