It would not interfere with already communist countries, but it would prevent the spread of it to new countries. Basically stopping any revolutions that could occur and oppressing the people. This was apparent in Chile in which the US on September 11 1973 where two fighter jets killed the democratically elected socialist leader of Chile. Then installed a dictatorship.
