So every since I started using windows 8.1, when ever I try and post any answers to questions, I get a file that tries to download. Does anyone know how to fix this?

this is what it looks like
I used to have this problem ALL the time using IE. I just switched to Chrome and it is fixed.
And I see your Reply stays in the 'Comments' textbox. This was another thing that happened to me ALL the time using IE
It stays after you sent that reply
yes exactly!
Mhm! Just some Internet Explorer Problems
same when i use win 8.1 hmm and also when u comment , u need to refresh page to show comments area box (right ? )
Yes you can either refresh, or go to another post and come back
Haha :)It has it's bugs
It only does that on IE, though.
Try running OpenStudy with compatibility mode in internet explorer. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11
Well, I jsut asked the dev team if they have it mime mapped.
They have the mime setting in the server, so it is not that the proper info is not hosted. Sounds like a client side issue then.
IT only happend with IE. I stopped using IE to log on to OS. Chrome is perfect :)
It*
test on compatibility mode
ha worked. Thnx @Opcode
Also Windows 8 sucks.. I don't know why they are forcing everyone to change. I like Windows 7 :)
I love it. It is great for multitasking; if you have a touch screen.
You are welcome. :-)
:)
@zzr0ck3r It is a horror for business use, expecially if you have a lot of legacy applications, like most bisnesses do... where they also do not have touch screens. They made a phone/tablet OS and tried to shove it down everyone's throats. That was an idiotic move. They really should have made Metro an option that was defaulted on for devices with a touch screen and off for things without.
I use a mac air for anything business/school related (not studying). I love my windows laptop for entertainment, and studying. I love being able to easily have multiple things on a screen (snap to screen function), and you simply cant do that with a mac. I got sort of lucky. I bought a new pc and then my school game me a mac. And it is very nice having both. I really don't run any programs outside of tek and vlc. The ability to connect to my tv through widi is also great. I am pretty sure you have to buy separate stuff if you want to do that with a mac. Gun to my head I would buy a mac if I could only have one, for reliability and battery life. But both is great.
@opcode do you know how to do this for microsoft edge?
Might have a missing plugin...
My best advice is to stop using 8.1 windows. It is a toy not an operating system
best operating system was XP
i use vista right now
it is 5 times faster than windows 7
and 3 times slower than XP lol
Windows 8 has been made in a form of toy. Microsoft don't understand that operting system is an instrument. not a toy lol
