OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
@campbell_st can u maybe help?
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
@gorv can you maybe help?
OpenStudy (igreen):
y - -3 = -4 (x - 1)
Two negatives equal a positive..so I think they want you to simplify it more.

Everything else looks fine.
OpenStudy (igreen):
Like if you have 2 - - 5, it would be 2 + 5.
OpenStudy (igreen):
Same here:
y - -5 = 1/2 (x - -8)
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
so i should try y - 3?
OpenStudy (igreen):
No..I told you two negatives is a positive.
So if you had 2 - -5 it would be 2 + 5.
So y - -5 is what?

OpenStudy (igreen):
y - -3*
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
y + 3
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
right?
OpenStudy (igreen):
Yep!
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
ok thx! and the others are right?

OpenStudy (igreen):
That gives you:
y + 3 = -4 (x - 1)
Now can you do #7?
y - -5 = 1/2 (x - -8)
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
so y + 5 = 1/2 (x + 8) ?
OpenStudy (igreen):
Yep, you got it.
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
yay! the rest are right?
OpenStudy (igreen):
Hold on.
#7 is right.

OpenStudy (igreen):
#8 is also right.
OpenStudy (igreen):
What do you mean? The way you just changed it is right..
OpenStudy (igreen):
Oh, sorry I said "Can you do #7?", but I meant "Can you do #5?"
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
ok cool!
when i fist submitted it, numbers 7 and 8 were right, i didnt change it and i submitted it again and they were wrong...
OpenStudy (igreen):
Well they're correct..#9 is incorrect..you got the slope right, but the y-intercept is wrong.

OpenStudy (igreen):
And you don't have to put that parenthesis there..
y = 2x + 1 is wrong..
OpenStudy (igreen):
Well y = 2(x + 1) is right..because you distribute 2 into the parenthesis which gives you y = 2x + 2, which is correct.
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
ok, ill ask my teacher about 7 and 8....
for number 9, so instead i should write 2x + 2?
OpenStudy (bunnyzrockgirl):
@iGreen ?
OpenStudy (igreen):
Yes, y = 2x + 2
