MEDAL AND FAN Which measures of central tendency are the most representative of the data set? 23, 50, 49, 48, 49, 32, 37, 40, 41, 42, 41, 41, 43 mean, median range, median mean, mode and median mean, mode

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

range is a measure of spread or dispersion... the 3 means of central tendency are mean, mode and median mode is used for categorical data mean and median for quantitative data... hope this helps

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st so is it all three- mean, mode, and median?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know what mean mode and median are, i just dont know what centeral tendency is haha

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well all 3 can be used to find the centre of a data set... you need to decide if you have quantitative data or categorical data...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OH, so mean and median?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@campbell_st

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

well it looks like quantitative data to me... so that's what I'd answer... but it really depends on what you have learnt... if you have studied data types and learnt which measure to use... then I'd answer mean and median if you haven't studied data types... then its mean, median and mode

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

sorry to be wishy washy...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well going off my experience, its never the answer that is different from the rest. ie in all the answers theres only 2 words, except for the one with 3. so ill just go with the mean and median. even if its wrong, i probably wouldnt have guessed right anyways haha. thank you(:
